Tracye Ferguson - Clinician
Tracye has enjoyed the sport of hunter/jumper riding since the age of five where she started with Louise McConnell at Hillcroft Acres. After a successful junior career under the guidance of Dion Dana, Helen Gould, and Wilson Dennehy, Tracye became a professional rider/trainer at the age of 18. While earning her degree in Journalism from the University of Colorado in Boulder, she worked for Blue Cloud Farms. After graduating in 1985, Tracye formed her successful training and showing barn, Bristol Farms which later became Meridian Riding Club. As a professional rider, she was so lucky to have professional guidance from Jessica Ransehousan, Rita Timpanaro, Kip Rosenthal, Don Stewart, and Nick Karazissis to name a few!
Tracye has trained numerous state, regional and national champions – horses and riders alike and has had several riders place Top Ten in National medal finals. Her winning riders have spanned all three rings – from Short Stirrup to the International Hunter Derby, to Medal/Maclay and to Grand Prix jumpers.
As a professional in the hunter/jumper industry for over 35 years, Tracye is interested in continuing to see the sport thrive. Being a native Coloradan and a mother of one, Tracye maintains an active role in ensuring the hunter/jumper industry remains the healthy and fun sport that has given her and so many other years of enjoyment. She has served on the CHJA Board for 30 years and spent seven of those years as President or Vice President. Tracye also was a long-time member of the Zone 8 committee serving as Vice Chair and Chair for 4 years. Tracye also served on many national USHJA committees and is currently a member of the Zone 4 committee.
As a part of giving back to the industry, Tracye is a USEF “R” judge in Hunters, Hunter/Jumping Seat Equitation and Hunter Breeding.
Since moving to Jacksonville, Florida in November of 2019, Tracye has focused on Judging, clinics and continues to freelance in Jacksonville for Coriander Farms owned by Katie Young
