Dear Applicant, Thank you for applying to the inaugural Mountain King Ranch Equitation Grant! We are so excited as a family, as lifetime CHJA members and as fellow riders to offer new opportunities to Colorado riders. There is no doubt, our state offers a foundation for riding like no where else in the country -- and we want to be a small part in helping others take that foundation to the next level of experience, awareness, education, friendship and fun!
We had more than 50 applicants from age 12 to 17 -- all excellent candidates. Names and identifying features of the applications were removed, and then a special CHJA committee was formed to read through all submissions. The committee narrowed the group to just three finalists, who were presented with video and photos to Stacia Klein Madden at Beacon Hill Show Stables for final selection.
We are very excited that this opportunity is an annual gift -- so you have the opportunity to apply again if eligible, and we encourage you to do so! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for making the first year of our grant so meaningful. Through your application we can see the talent and desire rising and we will always do our part in service to our sport. We have a saying, "A rising tide lifts all boats."
