Lisa Munro

Lisa lives in Longmont, Colo. with her husband – Will, horse – Cat, cat – Horse, dogs - Mustang and Zaldi and their two kids - Carter and Blakely. She has served on the CHJA board since 2019 as the Treasurer, Marketing Chair and Education Chair. As the marketing chair, she hired and works alongside CHJA's marketing manager where they revamped CHJA’s marketing through social media, email communication and branding. Lisa also launched the Education committee alongside CHJA president, Jill Pelzel, and implemented new education programs to benefit CHJA members including the professional mentorship program and the member benefits horsemanship clinic. In 2023, Lisa was awarded the Betty Weber Award for sustained contributions to CHJA as an officer, board member, committee chair, committee member and volunteer.
Outside of her volunteer work with CHJA, Lisa is the director of development for the United States Equestrian Team Foundation. She has her bachelors in advertising from Fresno State and masters in sport management from the University of San Francisco. She has been riding and actively involved with horses for over 25 years and has been competing with her horse, Cat, for 19 years. Originally from California, Lisa competed throughout the California show circuit through high school, participated in USHJA's Zone 10’s Emerging Athlete Program in 2009 and then rode for Fresno State’s NCAA equestrian team from 2009-2013. In 2016, after moving to Colorado from California, she started Horse d’oeuvres, a horse treat business that was a childhood dream. In 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 she co-taught a horsemanship camp for the USHJA horsemanship quiz challenge where she had multiple girls qualify and attend nationals. Lisa has also qualified for the USHJA HQC Adult Nationals three years in a row. In September of 2017, Lisa was listed on The Plaid Horse Magazine’s 30 under 30 list for her success with Horse d’oeuvres and the USHJA horsemanship quiz challenge.
