Hello CHJA and Meridian Riding Club (MRC) Friends

We here at MRC are painstakingly working to keep your horse safe as we see this current VS outbreak dwindling day by day. We are so looking forward to the show this upcoming weekend – we again will feature out of state judges, finals level courses, and the same great management that strives to always give you a quality horse show experience!

It is the belief of all veterinarians, and certainly those at Littleton Equine Medical Center, that VS is a truly fly borne disease that can rarely be passed from horse to horse. While we realize that barn owners and trainers must strive to keep their barn’s animals safe – please know that your horses are safer, nowhere, than at a show that is willing to do low incubation health certs and provide entryway animal checks to ensure no infected animals enter the grounds.

With that being said – here is our plan to keep your horses as safe as possible!

1. We and the Colorado Horse Park will be instituting a 5 day or less Health Certification requirement.

2. We have hired Vet Techs/trained personnel to man the Biosecurity gate at CHP to check mouths, lips and feet on all horses prior to entering the show grounds. This will require we put a $15 sur charge/ entry to cover these additional costs.

3. Please remind your staff, grooms and trainers to not let horses mingle or share water.

4. Please remember that the Colorado Horse Park requires a 5 bag minimum of shavings per stall. You can bring your own or buy less – and pay the $25 cleaning fee.

Here are the Biosecurity Hours being offered:

Friday: 11:00AM to 5:00 PM

Saturday: 6:30 AM to 2:00 PM

Sunday: 6:30 AM to Noon
